NEPA BlogCon 2012
NEPA BlogCon, the day-long extravaganza of all things blogging, social media, and general geekery, has officially come and gone. It was a wild ride, a non-stop series of presentations and panel sessions and left everyone Tweeting and Facebooking the best bits, in between feverishly typing notes on iPads and laptops.
The ripples it caused are still expanding outwards – an after-the-after-party meet up to discuss what worked and what didn’t, lots of interest in next year’s event, and even some developments towards BlogCon 2013.
It’s great to see a local event blow up like this. BlogCon was HUGE, and it’s going to keep being huge. Having seen it once, I don’t think there’s any way it won’t continue to gain mass from year to year. And the Fearsome Foursome, the driving force behind it, aren’t about to let any of this momentum go to waste.
So here’s what went on during the day, down at Luzerne County Community College, where NEPA’s blogging community descended on the campus computer complex in force:
As for me, I was glad to be part of the day, both as the official photographer and as a panelist in the afternoon. I don’t know that I’m any kind of expert blogger, but if sharing my methods can help others, then I’m all for it. And I’ve already got some ideas of my own for next year’s event – maybe doing a whole session of my own, or shooting some blogger headshots…
NEPA is a good place to be, and this is the right time to be here, when we have talented, motivated people like the Foursome shaking things up. I’m glad I’m here!
