Masquerade Ball at The Vintage
You know that line about the best laid plans? Well, it’s true – things go awry. We had great plans for sort of manned photo booth, where I’d have a mini studio setup to take portraits of folks in costume. But unfortunately there was a last minute change of venue, and the event ended up at The Keys, an island-themed bar on Penn Ave that just didn’t have the room for such a setup. So, we improvised.
Instead of the portraits we had planned on, we settled for a candid approach to the evening and I shot a mix of portraits and event coverage photos, pretty much the usual for most events. Except the folks out that night were anything but average – the costumes and masks I saw were great. (And especially the guy with the Hindu elephant mask!)
Some shots from the night – enjoy!
Major props to Conor and Theresa, owners of The Vintage, for throwing such a cool event. Despite the last minute switch, it was still a great time. It’s fun to do something different like this, and of course a series of rocking bands always makes it even better yet. Props to the folks at The Keys as well, for hosting the evening when things went awry.
