Tuesday morning really was incredible – sitting at the picnic table at the park, it’s like I had stepped into bird-world, and they just didn’t care that I was there. While the Bluebirds were doing their thing, I got a good look at a couple of neighbors, too.

Your basic Black-capped Chickadees here, but I’m always thrilled anytime I can get more than one bird into an image. It doesn’t happen often. And in this case, the preceding frame had just the front guy, and the next frame showed him along again.
Wasn’t able to get this White-breasted Nuthatch’s partner in the shot, but hell, I’m still happy – this is easily the best shot of this guy that I’ve yet gotten. It’s that yellow background that does it. Yeah, it might be nice if the bokeh was a bit creamier, but I’m not complaining.

This last one, an Eastern Kingbird, is not only a first for me, but an incredible stroke of luck. He was there in the morning, preening, but I couldn’t get a shot through the branches that really showed good detail. When I came back in the evening, he was still there, which is nothing short of incredible. And this time I was able to nail the shot.
